These are some bonsai tree air layer cups. They come in 2 sizes. Small and Large. They are ingenius in their 2 piece plastic reusable construction. A lot of thought went into them. It takes about 20 to 30 minutes to make a traditional airlayer with plastic and tape or cable ties, if you are fairly quick and for most 45 minutes. These are a snap and can make an air layer in 10 minutes. The small one will work on a branch up to and no larger than 1/2". The large one will work on a branch 1/2" up to and no larger than 1". The size of the smaller cup is 3 1/4" diameter x 4 1/4" tall. The large cup is 4 3/4" diameter x 6" tall. The cup has an automatic water reservoir that is the depth just below the root black-out label. The balance of water drains off. The rest of the cup is for the rooting medium and hormone. Air layer is simple, just girdle the tree with 2 cuts 1" apart or larger and remove all bark, dust with hormone and close the cup around the tree. Then flex open the lid and slide around the branch, and drop down and snap onto the top of the cup. There is even slots on the tabs for using cable ties to further secure the lid. Common sense easy to do. You can make many bonsai this way. Japanese business bonsaiists used to say 120 days air layer to market. Cable ties not included.
