This is a beautiful slabed biseki green jadite stone. This is somewhat typical of the presentation of a stone like this. They are usually slabed in an ovoid shape like this and then set into a dai. Chinese dais are typically lacking in any real quality, but a carved dai nevertheless. Because of wood shortages, they use a lot of camphor wood to carve these out of. The slab is 1/2" thick and has some occlusions. The stone is very stable, polished and coated. The beauty is the patterns of green. I have seen the very best of these look like trees with branches in a picturesqe backgrounding. This is just a nice centered textured piece. Very natural art. The prices of these will rise like any fine art. The overall dimensions are 1 1/2" deep x 8 1/2" wide x 10 1/4" tall. This stone has chinese writing on it in red and black, and comes in a very nice and sturdy presentation box.
