Huge Dwarf Kingsville Boxwood Pre Bonsai Starter
This is a new rare Saunders hybrid dwarf boxwood starter pre bonsai tree. The genus/species is buxus microphyla "Saunders". It will easily compete with kingsville and has many of the same characteristics. One major difference is these are very fast growing by comparison. These like a good bit of regular watering and can handle full sun in the deep south. Their new primary leaves are usually larger and then the second set go into reduction. Full sun will give them smaller leaves. We grow these in 50% shade and they come to you with larger leaves. They will trim up and look like very old oak trees of various kinds, particularly the Naval Live Oak. Will look very good in any bonsai setting. At this price, try one for yourself. The remaining trees are somewhat taller and when these are gone, there will be no more since the company that we got these from has gone out of business. You can let them grow out and make cuttings for yourself. A 2 year potted cutting looks pretty good in size. Typical size is about a 1" trunk and larger and minimum 10" tall by 10" x10" spreads and larger. We have to ship these in the container you see them in, but cut down to reduce roots and weight. They are preped for leaving into a growing mode, or for you to work with right away. So set out for further growth or finish up into a pot right away this summer.
