This is a tropical, semi tropical sea grape. This is a type of shoreline shrubby tree that grows throughout south florida. The unique thing about these is that even though they have very large leaves, bonsaist have cut them down into leaf shapes in the 1 1/2" range. The leaves heal themselves naturally with a red edge. My observation of these is that they are reasonably hardy and I know that they are being kept in the virginia area with success. A type of bonsai starter for the more adept in the bonsai art. Only 2 nice size ones left for this year.
