This is a chinese weeping elm, ulmus parvifolia imported bonsai starter tree. This is the typical kind of elm, when one thinks of an elm bonsai, however this one has weeping branches. These are art shaped in china and imported to the US. They have cleared all US customs testing. These are outdoor type bonsai and are very hardy. They come in a 5" to 6" growing pot ready for you to plant into an 8" bonsai pot. These are super shaped for appearance and will foliate, much more, in your possesion and the leaves will reduce much smaller each season you own this tree. The caliper is about 3/4" or slighly less and they are averaging 8 to 9 inches tall and sometimes taller like the picture. You will always get one art shaped with weeping branches similar to the one in the picture. Heavy feeders and fast growing. Full to partial sun and need some dormancy time in the winter. However some people have kept these in greenhouses with leaves without dormancy. Will be offering larger sizes at a future date. Use a 10" drip tray for an 8" pot.
